MEET THE NAF TEAM

Colin Herchenbach / Product Manager

Colin graduated in 2007 from Marquette University in Milwaukee with a BS in Mechanical Engineering. His previous position at Scot Forge provided him with extensive metallurgical and manufacturability knowledge in both ferrous and non-ferrous materials. In 2010 Colin moved into technical aerospace sales where he participated in a cross-functional team that achieved AS9100, NADCAP, and prime special process approvals. In this position, Colin gained invaluable experience with complex forged shapes, optimized material characteristics by means of thermomechanical processing and heat treatment. These demanding projects required meticulous project management, detailed interplant routing, risk identification and mitigation. In late 2014 Colin was honored to accept the position of Product Manager at NAF.

Mike Kamnikar / President

Mike holds a BS in Metallurgical Engineering and Materials Science from Lehigh University. He started his career in the 70s selling ultra-large forgings for Bethlehem Steel. He joined Ellwood City Forge as VP of Sales in 1981 then served as President of Ellwood Crankshaft and Machine beginning in 1993. In 2003 he took on the additional responsibility of President of Ellwood Crankshaft and by 2007 he was named EGI Senior VP, Marketing and Business Development. The companies that he led became successful by developing the means to provide their customers the best value. In July 2014, Mike became President of North American Forgemasters.





Jonathan Townsend / Quality Manager

Jonathan holds a BS in Mechanical Engineering from Wilkes University in Wilkes Barre. He joined North American Forgemasters in late 2020 as the Quality Manager. His previous role as Quality Manager at Lenape Forged Products provided him with extensive knowledge of ferrous and non-ferrous open and close die forgings. During his time at Lenape, he led the AS9100 program, NADCAP accreditations, Navy and Commercial Nuclear quality programs to ensure compliance to serve a wide range of markets. Prior to Lenape, he worked in various quality roles at Wyman Gordon under in an AS9100 and NADCAP environment that supplied super nickel turbine rings to commercial jet engine programs.
